Pyrrol Crimson W&N Winsor Red Deep and Schmicnke ruby red deep are the same pigment and colour. Others to consider are Scarlet Lake W&N, French Vermilion or Scarlet Laquer (pans) Sennelier though none are exactly the same colour – they work the same sort of way for mixing. Sennelier (pan) or Schmincke are much better hues Transparent Pyrrol Orange – This is a lovely warm red option. Hansa Yellow Medium – Pure Yellow Schmincke, Winsor Yellow W&N, Yellow Sophie Sennelier (pan only as the tubes are really runny) Quinacridone Gold – the W&N version is very dull. It’s not the same as white so just leave it out. In Europe, you may find that Sennelier or Schmincke are easier to find and more affordable than W&N but I’ll give a few options for the colours.īuff titanium – no other option. Some of these colours are exclusive to Daniel Smith so you have to use an alternative. I would like to find as many replacement colors from W&N as possible to match up to the D.S.Ĭan somebody that has experience of both brands help me out? Unfortunately I can’t find and “cheap” DaVinci colors here in Europe, but I was able to find a store in Germany that has sale on some W&N 37ml and 14ml.
Jane give suggestions to other DaVinci colors that are equivalent to the D.S. You can see the pic colornames, all are D.S. I was thinking trying a 20 color palette that Jane Blundell use.
